Questions and answers

Start with what you
want to know.

How Scriptures works, what your AI can do here, and what stays yours.

About the site

What is Assist With Scriptures?

A place to read scripture and religious writings and keep your own study. Studies, passages, your Notes, and your AI's sourced Research can stay connected, ready for you to return to.

Is it affiliated with a church?

No. Assist With Scriptures is independent and is not affiliated with or endorsed by any church or religious organization. It welcomes study from every tradition.

What does it cost?

The site is free during this soft launch. You use your own AI account or subscription. Some future features that cost the site money may require an upgrade; there is no paid checkout today.

Your AI

Does the site have its own AI?

No. You bring your usual AI. The site stores and organizes your study and offers tools an authorized AI can use.

Which AIs work here?

The connection is designed for clients that support remote MCP and OAuth sign-in. A complete sign-in, read, and save round trip from a named AI client has not yet been verified. The Connect page reports the current setup state.

What can a connected AI see and change?

Within its granted access, an AI can read your study context and public texts and save attributed Research, Document versions, Lists, Plans, Connections, and Queue results. It cannot overwrite your own Notes or change its own access. Sharing, export, and permanent deletion are not AI tools. You can narrow or revoke access in AI connections.

Does my AI keep working after I close the chat?

That depends on your AI client. The Queue stores requests for your chosen AI to retrieve; the site does not start an AI or keep one running.

Faith and perspective

Will the site tell me what to believe?

You decide what your study means. The site keeps source texts, your own Notes, and your AI's Research distinct. It does not assign beliefs or choose an interpretation for you.

Can I choose how my AI discusses faith with me?

Save guidance in your own words in study Preferences: tone, sources you value, depth, and how you want to be challenged. A connected AI can read that guidance. You and your AI choose how to apply it.

The public library

What can I read?

The public catalogue includes Bible editions, Latter-day Saint scriptures, early Jewish and Christian writings, and texts from several other traditions. Browse Public texts for the editions available in this environment and each edition's sources and rights.

Can I read the original languages?

The library includes original-language editions. For supported Hebrew passages, Language mode shows words with pronunciation, gloss, grammar, dictionary form, and occurrence count. Word data is not available for every language or edition.

Why are some texts link-only?

Rights apply to the particular edition. Many modern translations, talks, and commentaries remain under copyright. A catalogue record or source link does not mean the site can publish its full text. Public-domain and openly licensed editions show their rights and attribution.

Privacy and your data

Is my study private?

Personal study records are private to your account and your authorized AI connections. Sharing is not available yet. Private study does not feed this site's public content. What you send to your AI is also governed by that provider's policies.

Does opening another Assist site share my study?

No. Each Assist site has its own records. Following a family link does not transfer your Studies or give another site access to them.

Getting started

Do I need an account to read?

No. You can browse the public catalogue and read public texts without signing in. Sign in to keep your own Studies, Notes, Lists, and questions.

What is the difference between Notes, Research, and Documents?

Notes are your own words. Research is what your AI finds, with sources and attribution. Documents are things you make together, such as talks and lessons; their versions keep who wrote them and the request behind the work.

The texts are the scribes’ and translators’. The notes are yours. The research is your AI’s, with its sources. Set in Literata and Fraunces.

The Assist With family

Opening another site does not share your Studies.
